Founded in 1990 to follow in the University of Pittsburgh tradition, the Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Alumni Network continues to forge a strong bond among Pitt alumni living in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We are excited to carry on Pitt’s rich history and look forward to building upon our successes for the future.
The Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Alumni Network aims to hold a variety of of events that appeal to alumni with different interests. Pitt fans come together to cheer on the Panthers at game watches. We field our own alumni teams through the Capital Alumni Network (CAN), to include softball, flag football and soccer.
While we enjoy our sporting events, the Network believes in giving back to the local community through volunteering and community service. The Network also offers a variety activities to bring Pitt Alumni together including networking functions, happy hours, and university events that feature Pitt faculty.
While the Chapter primarily supports current alumni, I believe in the future of Pitt and constantly work to create opportunities for future generations of students. This is partly achieved by providing select incoming freshmen with a chance to receive an academic scholarship.
The Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Alumni Chapter offers something for all alumni who live in our area but we need your ideas and suggestions. I encourage you to connect with your fellow Alumni today!
Z. Selin Hur
President
A note about our Network's Name
You may know us as the Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Club. In 2020, the PAA went through a rebranding and we became the Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Alumni Chapter. And then in 2023, the PAA decided to do yet another rebranding and we are now the Chesapeake and Potomac Pitt Alumni Network. You will see the terms Chapter and Network used interchangeably on the PAA website. At the end of the day, we are all the same group of alumni supporting the University.
